Argh.

Although I rearranged my plans and my schedule yesterday, including a doctor's appointment, in order to work today--my normal day off--so my parents could go off and have a nice day together, it seems that I'm now in grave peril of working tomorrow after all. You have no idea how badly I don't want to do this. My dad has a dr appt tomorrow at 11:30. My mother doesn't wish to work. Why did this not come up YESTERDAY, when they suggested that I take Thursday off instead? I could have planned for Friday and then I wouldn't be so pissed off now. It's been hanging over my head for the last two hours. Forty hours a week is enough. I don't think that's an unreasonable request for someone who signed on for one day a week...

Stand firm on those boundaries!! "No" is the hardest thing to say, but often the most valuable.

As it turns out, they didn't call so I didn't have to stand firm. I just had to sound really relunctant on the phone last night, I guess! :)

LOL That works too. I've got members of my family who can't say no and always help people out.. it means that everyone goes to them when they need something, and they never have a minute to themselves. So I sorta have a thing about people standing up for their own time if they can. :)
