Feet, framed.

I framed a picture of my feet today.

I'm not one of those people who freak out about feet, clearly. One of my favorite pictures was taken while M was here on a visit. We're down at the lake, sitting on side-by-side on a tattered blanket spread out on the rocks. There's water in the background, and four bare feet. I would post a picture of it but I doubt you people really need to see feet to get the idea. M likes it, too, but not nearly as much as I do, I don't think. There's just something.. fresh about it. M points out that it's a rather summery photo, however, and I put it in a square silver frame with glittery snowflakes. I think he's suggesting that I have my seasons mixed up--hmph!

I've made a huge dent in Christmas card preparation last night and tonight, but I'm estimating a final date of completion as being January 8. M had a very large hand in what I should write in one particular card last night, and we laughed an awful lot. I think whoever ends up with it will know of what I speak, and recognize M's part in it.

M brought me roses on Monday cause he guessed--correctly--that I might be in a mood. I like him.

Did you realize that there are only two Saturdays remaining before Christmas?

Speaking of Christmas, we received beautiful Christmas cards from the Australian faction this week: [livejournal.com profile] ozswede and [livejournal.com profile] tallefjant (okay, not all Australian..) and [livejournal.com profile] courtesy. We feel all warm and shmooey. (We also got cards from M's parents, and our landlords. I do not believe any of them are Australian, but then again, I never actually asked.)

Do people remember what cards you send them the previous year? I'm wondering when it's appropriate to start using leftover cards again. I can't bear to throw the extras away, but we keep buying more cards, and every year there are some left over, and I think, "oh, can't send these because I might have sent it to them last year." M reminds me that people really don't remember that kind of thing, but that doesn't stop me from obsessing over it. What do you think, internet? Should I just move on and get rid of the cards I'm never going to be able to completely use up? Actually, don't bother answering that. Chances of me throwing away, or even giving away, unused paper products: slim to none. But at least I'm aware of my faults!

Edited to add: Now I am contemplating a database of who I send cards to every year, with a short written description of what the card looked like. Then I could double-check every year to make sure I don't repeat-card someone. And on second thought, perhaps I do not know my faults nearly as well as I thought...

Edited again to add: Actually, yes, that sounds exactly like something I would do. Geek. Great. Now I'm talking to myself.

The picture sounds so cute. :D

I tend to remember who sends what Christmas cards because I put them all on the wall each year, lol! *HUGGLES*

You are totally dashing my hopes here. ;)

I don't think the address I have for you is right, by the way. It's pre-move-to-apartment, I'm pretty sure...ahem...

Send the old cards, send the old cards!! I know exactly what the last card you sent me looks like because I have it next to the sweet gift on my shelf, but I firmly believe in sending cards from the previous year :)

Oh and I know that photo ... you used it on some artwork one time I think :)

LOL! Go ahead and send the same damn card! :) But please make the database, or better yet, and Excel spreadsheet! :D

Right you are.. it's here. Good memory.. I'm impressed. :)

Why are you encouraging me to be anal about this?! ;) Wouldn't it just be pretty sad to create a database (I was using the term loosely.. I probably would do it in a spreadsheet) of who I send cards to and what kind of card it was? Although I do have a list of just that sort for Christmas presents and I absolutely LOVE it.. hmm... *runs away to start playing with Excel...*

Great! What kind of cards DID I send last year? I completely can't remember.

(You're so sweet. *giggle*)

I have no freakin' clue what card anyone sent me. I say go for it. If it makes you feel better make the spreadsheet. You and Mike can obsessively make spreadsheets together. He has them for the oddest things.

*whispers* I have one for christmas cards, too, although not for WHICH card it was :P

You could try a cost effective method that we used in our poorer student days. We'd return the card you sent us the following year. Not only do you not have to even buy a card, if you put it in the same envelope and cross out your name and address and put Not known at this address. Return to sender. you don't have to pay postage either :)

Not to mention that you are helping the environment by recycling...

Actually, I tell a lie, it's a birthday card with a photo from KY(jelly) - a horse in a field with beautiful autumn leaves :)

That's right - I love that shot too :)
