a note on my flex day.

I do not understand why it is that I am dreadfully sleepy on days in which I work, but yet I am up and showered before eight on my day off, after spending nearly an hour laying in bed awake. I guess it's a GOOD thing because I get more done, but I feel that it's unfair on principle. However, it's pretty nice that at just past ten in the morning, I had not only showered and eaten, I had backed up files, ran a virus scan, started upgrading the MM forum, which has needed done for a while (successfully completed!) and made several phone calls that really needed made and the laundry is sorted and started and the bathroom straightened up. And you know what? People are sometimes pretty nice. No good stories to go into but as I am an anti-social little whiner, I am occasionally surprised at how nice people are when you call them and ask them questions. I mean, I guess it's their job but still. It's not their job to give me the name and phone number of a competitor.

Last week, we had a training session on identity theft. I am now completely, irreparably paranoid. I plan to spend the rest of the day shredding things. It should be fun.

FLYING BED!

[livejournal.com profile] carrieb! Look! You could totally have a flying bed! Hiller Flying Platform, circa 1954. Throw a mattress on it and you are THERE. Look at the picture at the bottom especially.

(M is obsessed with Mythbusters of late, and they are building (or attempting to build) personal flying machines, hence the interlude at the Hiller museum and video clips that show it in flight.)
