We have gotten so much done this weekend. Our house almost looks like people live here rather than just come in and throw their junk down before heading to a hotel where there's maid service every day. It's.. nice. I suppose I was inspired by the ebay lady, as mentioned yesterday. After dinner, I've spent most of my time fiddling with my journal style. Yes, yes, plenty of stuff that I need to do, but this was important! (Based on Transmogrified, by absolut. Thank you!) I'm kind of done now. By that, of course, I mean that there are several little things that I should change, but I probably won't ever get around to it because I stopped working on it now.)

You know what I don't understand? People who comment on really popular blogs and just say "First?" or similar. What is the allure of being the first to comment? "Hi, I'm K. I have no life and obsessively refresh this page hoping for a chance to be first to comment." Or maybe I'm just not up with the all the coolness, or something.

Oh, dear. I just remembered that the sheets are still in the dryer. I should perhaps be making the bed up rather than posting here.

I modified it some, but it's based on this. A lot of the LJ styles look cluttered, but I liked this one for just the reasons you mentioned. :) And, thanks!

So this layout (transmorgified) is one of the four that I voted for and I followed your lead and start using it. So far so good - though I have two questions. How did you get the border around the main container and how do you get to have an image for the banner?

I added the following overrides to the CSS part of the Customize section. (Does that make sense? Do you know what I'm talking about? I think the LJ people were on crack when they laid all of this out because it seems like there are settings and things to tweak all over the place.)

(The last two header blocks are to prevent the title of the page from appearing. You don't really need those.)

There's a community with tutorials for the style at transmogrified1.. there's one on headers, which is where I got the above idea from. And then, I'm a total sucker for 1px black borders so I just HAD to add that! :)
