God bless the Veterans.

Boyo and I are off early tomorrow morning (if all goes according to plan, and the plan does not alter to include sleeping late, that is) to our anniversary extravaganza in the land of tourism. I have ordered the ridiculously expensive rooms. I found them online but called the number to see if being a state employee would get me any money off. (It usually does. It is SO neat.) As a matter of fact, they don't... but they do give discounts for Sam's Club members... which we are. I have no idea what that is about but it adds up to about thirty bucks in total, and that pretty much covers our cost of the membership for the year. Nifty.

We shall eat a lot of good food, shop for things we don't need, and engage in public displays of affection. We might even take in some obnoxiously overpriced tourist traps. We shall go to bed when we want to and get up when we want to and we will swim and speak of pool fans in Swedish, because we.. always do that, and we have never understood why. We will gossip about people we know and complain about what so-and-so said and we will giggle at people we see and the stupid things we overhear them say. In short, it shall be delightful.

(We'll have the laptop with us, and will probably check in as long as the free internet works. We'll see.)

Ummmmm. Why? Why would they put a fan in the room with the pool? I don't understand. My brain is going to hurt until you explain it to me.

I don't know. But several places do.. especially the ones with high ceilings. I think that's why they do it, for air circulation in the summers since those rooms might get a little stuffy with all the glass. Maybe. I don't know. I'm sorry I can't explain it any better than that.. hope your brain doesn't hurt from it.
