(no subject)

For the first time since we moved in, the long counter in the computer room is empty. Stacks of CDs have been sorted, put in binders and the cases have been tucked away in a drawer and two entire bags full of them were even thrown away. I'm so happy.

M brought me candy and ice cream tonight for Valentine's Day. We've decided that we want to do something special and nice, but we're not really all that sure what that might entail. I'm beginning to suspect that steak with a mushroom and red wine sauce is in my immediate future. I might even go all out and scrounge up a tablecloth. Does it surprise anyone that we don't really celebrate Valentine's Day? It seems so.. non-us, but we don't really get enthused over it too much. Funny.

My cousin wrecked her car day before yesterday, but both she and the baby (she's six weeks pregnant) are fine, thank goodness. M went with my dad and uncle today to pick up her car. She just had a wreck last year.. if I had more time, I'd look it up and link to it. She was mildly injured last time, but much luckier this time. Mom called to let me know when we were in Lexington shopping Wednesday--the weird thing is that they almost saw it happen. Her and Dad were sitting at McDonald's when they noticed the wreck outside. This led to a very frantic mother rushing across the road and then being restrained by my dad at the cop's request. Last time she wasn't wearing her seat belt--I think this time she had at least learned her lesson. It was her fault, though, and they only had liability on the car.. so not so great for them to have to replace the car. :)

Anyway, it's bedtime so I'd better skedaddle--M is very whiney when he's ready to go to bed before me. :)

We don't do Valentine's Day either really. But we will have people over tomorrow to get our fill of chocolate and other sweets.

Look at the link in my last post, I think you and M will like the card I sent Tobias.

*grin* That's a pretty good one. ;) We're still trying to get caught up on the Halloween candy, so I'm not going to worry about the chocolate, either. :)

geez louise!! I hope they check your cousin out thoroughly! Being in a crash when you're pregnant is bad news. :( I'm glad to hear they seem to be okay. Yikes.

Yeah, I know. :/ They went to the ER and they checked them out--she had actually been out at the clinic earlier in the day and had the ultrasound picture in her purse. Mommy is fine, but I guess it'll be a while before we can be absolutely sure about Baby, though it seems like she's okay.

No, it's not surprising that you're not really into Valentine's Day. You guys are romantic but so am I and I can't STAND V Day. It's nice to be reminded about love but I'd much prefer to get flowers any other day for no reason than just because it's V Day :)

Yes, exactly! And by now, I often preface holidays with "you don't need to buy me flowers!" just because.. well, they're really nice and all, but I don't need it to know he loves me and I would be just as happy if he stopped and bought me a package of paper or something, so the flowers are unnecessarily expensive. We like each other ALL the time. ;)

Mmm, steak with mushrooms and red wine sauce. As it happens, that's what I'm making for dinner tonight.

Glad to hear that your cousin and her baby are all right.

I guess it might help my cooking plans if I actually had steak. Or mushrooms. I do have the wine, at least! Hope you're having better luck with the supplies.. hehe.

All of ours is prepped and ready to be cooked, but it's a little early to start it yet. Hope you get all of yours together!
