This is the entry from last night--our internet connection was so shifty that it refused to post for hours.

If we do nothing else this week besides sit on the couch and eat bonbons, we've still gotten quite a lot accomplished. We've been busy busy all day long, but somehow the to-do list keeps growing. Right now, I would be working on Mosaic Minds, but my internet connection, or the lack thereof, more specifically, is seriously cramping my style. Can't really test locally as well as I would like. Ahh, now it's back. It's sucking horribly, though. It's actually been really good for the last three months or so, and pretty good for some time before that, so I guess I can't complain too much this time. Well. I couldn't if they didn't have such a history of being awful. If it wasn't so awful, I would search through my old posts to link to specific examples of Adelphia's horribleness, but it is, so I won't. If you're still following me here. I guess what I'm saying is that they're so horrible that I can't even show you how horrible they are. Coincidence? I think not..

You know, I don't even know what bonbons are, exactly. Unless.. are they the chocolates with funny centers? The standard Valentine's Day candy? Cause if they are, I don't even like those. If they're not.. well, I still don't like them--I just won't call them bonbons anymore. I just don't see the point in candy with a surprise. I want my chocolate to be predictable and delicious, not ooey and gooey and different every time. If I wanted a surprise, I would let M cook. (Should I mention the chocolate chicken or should I just let it pass without comment...) Clearly, that's not the case.

Anyway. Moving right along. The unexpected news of the day is that I have a second interview at the place I interviewed at almost four weeks ago. I had completely decided that wasn't happening, and so it was a shock this morning when I heard from them. It's not until the 13th, though. He suggested the 8th, but we have to be in Cincinnati that day to pick up Tyrlmas.

Tyrlmas? What kind of name is that, you wonder, and rightly so. Only an idiot would be so completely unable to say "o" that they would replace it with a "yrl" combo, right?

On second thought, I don't want to tell that story, either.

It does remind me of the time we sent a friend of ours a vibrating hamster, though, and wrote him a letter to include with it. I would write one word, then M would write the next. It was phenomenally stupid, in retrospect, but we found it quite hilarious. Visits were like that. Good times. It's very very nice that it's been long enough since we were on separate continents that we can be almost nostalgic about it, I have to say.

A vibrating hamster?! The mind reels. The letter must have a complete riot, though. Did you keep a copy?! Good news about the interview! :)
Oh, and bonbons: a candy with chocolate or fondant coating and fondant center that sometimes contains fruits and nuts. Now you know.

A vibrating hamster?? Now that's a REAL gift. Great news about the interview! Of course, you're probably still in two minds about it having not wanted it when it was potentially available but wanted it a bit because you wanted to want it and then wanting it when it didn't seem forthcoming and then not wanting it through want of happiness and wanting to want want want want... but I'll hold my thumbs anyway ;)

Actually, we scanned it.. I found it while looking through old files a while back, or I probably would have forgotten about writing it. Very dumb.

I knew I didn't like bonbons! :)

*nod* It was very very good. And it wasn't even his birthday! I believe he named it Dan.

I think I followed that last sentence, and I think I agree. I'm not entirely sure, though, so if I agreed to something vile, I didn't mean it. :)
