Happy birthday to me!

It's been a long weekend. I forgot to post yesterday, too, so this may turn into another novel. Let's start with today, for variety.

My hubby woke me up and sang Happy Birthday to me. :) That was all sweet. I slept a little late, and got ready and stuff, and wasn't quite sure what to think about the fact that no one called to say Happy Birthday. The parents called around noon and asked if I wanted to go to lunch with them at La Finca's, and I agreed. I was told that they would be down to pick me up shortly, maybe as long as 15 minutes.. and 45 minutes later, they show up. *mumble* Oh well, no big deal. We had lunch, and it was excellent. Randy ate with us and actually paid the bill, which was very sweet but also unncessary.. he paid for mine and Aunt Rita's too, so.. Men. They do like to show off to each other. :) On the way home, Mom and Aunt Rita and I looked through trailers for a couple of hours. It was fun. Third day in a row, so I guess it feels like home already! :)

So then we came back and prepared things for the party People started arriving, and we ate. Nummy food! We did the ice cream and cake thing, and my hubby came home finally with a shiny red convertible for me.

Go ahead, read that again if you must. I'll wait.

Yep, a convertible. And flowers. :)

A trade-in from a car sold today. It's a '90 Saab, manual. We haven't actually purchased it yet, but we have it until Monday at least. We'll see. I'm just not all that sure that I'm a convertible person. Or a manual person. Cute, though. My hubby loves it, anyway. We went for a short drive. Had the top down for a while but it was really really cold. Just checked the weather and tomorrow is forecasted to bright sunshine, high around 77, light variable winds. Not bad convertible weather. Especially since the forecast for the rest of the week included "thunderstorm" for every day.

So. I opened presents. :) I got a Precious Moments pillow and a set of stackable glass bowls and money from the parents, and a widdle jewelry box and clock from Aunt Rita, and assorted money gifts. Very nice day. Very long and tiring day, too. But in general.. this birthday was not as bad as say, the two consecutive years that thunderstorms downed trees on our street in Augusta, knocking out power all night, or the year that Scotty decided to decorate a bus with his friends.. you get the picture.

Yesterday was Magnus's day off, and we were busybusy all day. We slept a little later than we had planned, and then Lisa called and we talked for almost an hour, probably. We had a quick lunch and then paid our car registration and went jewelry shopping. Found my birthday present (wait for it.. I had to!) and went to WalMart. Looked at cars and trailers a bit and stopped at the ER to check about M's soreness and make sure it wasn't anything really serious. (Quick visit.. we were in and out in an hour and fifteen minutes!) Neck strain type stuff. He's achy but generally okay. He got muscle relaxers for the pain. Seems like we did other stuff but I can't think of it at the moment. Anyway. Went to La Finca's for dinner (yep, two meals in a row as I don't eat breakfast.. I've been craving it lately.) M finally let me open my present, and it was... a ring! Yay! Really pretty. It was also from his parents and sister.

Did that work? It should, but I haven't tried posting a picture before.

Anyway. I could go on and on about what went on this weekend, because it's been going on for weeks, it seems, but I think I've said enough for now. Tired of typing and all.
