Today's dose of birth control. Magnus and I have spent an enjoyable evening reading about parenthood. M tends to not like the things like this, but this guy is so funny that it's worth it. He's irreverent and painfully unsentimental and absolutely hilarious. (The extremely easily offended might wish to steer clear.. I guess.) It's actually not that I don't want kids but rather would like to put off having them until we can say, pay for it, so anything that might keep off fits of babylust is welcome reading material.
Also have been reading the following: A Message to Scandinavians, and other writings by Doug Shaw. I was intensely amused by several things, and also extremely pleased with some of his viewpoints. But I digress. And furthermore, back_over_a_liberal_with_a_SUV reminded me disturbingly of shall-remain-nameless members of my acquaintance. I would be less vague, but there's always the even vaguer chance that someone I actually know might read this.
Did I mention that we actually bought a movie (June Night) in Swedish at Big Lots for $6 last week? How cool is that? Haven't watched it yet, though. Hoping to use it for practice.
In terrorist news: Plane diverted after woman goes to puke. I'm so proud to be an American.
Gallery of Regrettable Food. Unfortunate magazine-type pictures of unfortunate quasi-edible food stuffs of yesterday. Surprisingly entertaining and more disgusting than you're expecting, in some cases.
Today is my parents' anniversary. Not only does it fall on Friday the 13th, but they got married 28 years ago on Friday the 13th. 13 has always been more of a lucky than unlucky number for our family.
I also finally got around to buying my husband a phone card. I link to this only because $.05 to Sweden with no surcharge is pretty good. If you make extremely long phone calls, they have surcharge cards at rates of $.02/minute.
And, to my surprise.. Slashdot meets Alton Brown. If you're not a Good Eats fan, you won't be interested.
And what's a list of links without one to my most favorite thing on the planet:
tottebugs! Even if he doesn't send appropriate numbers of smooches my way and forgets to post most days.. still gotta love him! Well, I do. No one else does or anything.
Enjoy my links, I've worked really hard all evening to assemble them. Good night!
