Earlier tonight I was somewhat melancholy, but I've pretty much worked myself out of it by balancing the checkbook, cleaning off the paperwork stuff from my desk, catching up email I was supposed to respond to and folding laundry. I'm such a simple person.

Today was busy for both of us. I was up early to go to the surplus sale at the college with the parents (nothing but junk, really), and basically ran around with them most of the day. Visited with the grandparents and had lunch with Shannan and Angie, checked on the status of my car (the thing that the transmission guy thought might fix it didn't, so he has to do something bigger to the overdrive.. or something. Wednesday, in any case.) and went to this antiques and craft mall. Actually took Magnus back there as a surprise after I got home, because it was really neat. Didn't buy anything, but it's located in one of the old schools around here. There are several that were built after the depression by one of the programs creating jobs, and they're all really cool looking, with this certain yellow stone. All the ones of that type were closed down a few years ago.. asbestos, for one thing. M and I have talked at length about buying one of them and converting it into a house. Mansion. Whatever. The one we have in mind actually sold for $65,000... not really out of the range of possibility. The one we were in today would have been even better, though.. it's smaller. Oh well. Another year. Meanwhile, Magnus sold some phones in Maysville and got insurance for our new car and a few other odds and ends. This evening, we haven't done much of anything. He's either getting a cold or he has allergies. I hope it's allergies.

I wrote another email to the inlaws in Swedish tonight. It went a lot smoother this time, I think. M corrected less and the corrections were smaller.. but still, I have quite a ways to go. I've been dreading writing it because it's so much thinking, but I'm very satisfied with it. Also, it took approximately a quarter of the time it took the first time. Admittedly, it was also shorter, but still!

I'm teaching my dad how to use his computer. It's so cute. He's very excited about it. He has Office, and that's what we're working on, really. Well, we started with how to turn the thing on, actually. *grin* There's only been one lesson, but he's been working on it every night for a few minutes. The funny thing is that I started with Word, of course, and he completely didn't see the point in that. He's only interested in Excel. *giggle* He catches on rather well, but he's starting from zero, so I guess it'll take him a while.

I could still use a web type project if anyone thinks of something suitable.

Time to take my bug to bed and hope that he feels better tomorrow. Night!
