Monday night
Feb. 4th, 2003 02:04 amFeeling slightly guilty about posting tonight, as I'm days behind on mailing my chickles and I'm writing here instead. I'm a bad girl sometimes. :) Woulda been more convenient if I coulda talked her into doing a journal herself!
I was wondering.. is *shmoo* a commonly understood word/phrase? I think I've shmooed a lj friend (you know who you are!) a time or two recently, and it just occured to me tonight when I did so that I don't even know if it's a common expression/action or if it's a mud specific thing. I've been mudding so long that the lines are kinda blurred.. grin. Anyway, a proper shmoo is this: You give [recepient] the ultimate in snuggles, cuddles, and wuv. If I was really bored, I'd do colorcodes so it looked right, but well, I'm not. I'm in a bit of a hurry, as it's nearly two a.m. and the hubby might drag me off to bed before I'm finished writing.
Oh! Good news for me! I got my new glasses today! I can see! Well. Technically, I could see before, but now I can see better, for the most part. I'm having a harder time than normal adjusting to it. Apparently that happens in vision changes like the one I've had. This is far too boring to write about.
We're hopefully going to go get our pictures done this week or possibly next. We have so far, and with a decision to continue doing so, had professional portraits done every 13 months. One might wonder where we came up with 13 months. Actually, that's my little quirk. It was an accident, at first. We had pictures done in October of 1999, on his second visit here. Then we sorta had a few done in November of 2000.. lots of people were there and I was wearing this big fussy dress and there were flowers and stuff. :) The next year at around that time we thought about having another done, and that's when it occured to me that it had to be thirteen months. Magnus thinks it's a little excessively silly, I believe, but I think it makes perfect sense. We want an approximately yearly picture (and we don't really bother with having a bunch made to give to people so it's not all that expensive either) and therefore, if we move it forward by one month, eventually we'll have pictures from every month, which means that our clothing will be more varied than sweaters and jackets and such. This year, we procrastinated through January, but ultimately, we decided to wait until my new glasses came in even if that put us into February. Not that it really matters.. they're very similar. But these are glare-free, which is really quite neat.
And now I need to be off to bed. Not so much because I'm sleepy but because I just can't listen to M. go through his mp3 collection any longer. ;)
