Saturday morning
Mar. 8th, 2003 11:21 amMagnus did turn out to be sick, and he came home early.. he got here at around 2:30. He then slept for three hours or so and felt a lot better when he woke up, though still sick. We went out for a burger at Wendy's and went to WalMart while we were out to get some cold medicine and cough drops for the sick one. I really really needed that.. I've had a major case of cabin fever. We wanted to buy something fun while we were there but really didn't succeed. But I did get some beading wire.. more on that when I can take a picture.
I had the best laugh of the day at Wendy's when Vanilla Ice (as appearing on Saved by the Bell) strolled in. It was so hilarious. He was freshly out of a tanning bed, red-faced and with blonde hair, nearly shaved on the bottom but longer on the top. Very freshly cut, and walking around in his preppy clothes and really thinking he was majorly cool. If you cross Vanilla Ice with Zach from Saved the the Bell, you've got this guy *exactly*. It really lifted my spirits.. but we had to leave because he sat down at the table next to us and I couldn't stop laughing... cackle.
We got home and watched the Muppets with Roger Moore and Home Alone. Man, neither one of us remembered how mean the family is to the little kid. I guess it's more of a kid movie, in that way, so the kids should be able to identify with being picked on and stuff, but it was disturbing. I couldn't imagine why the kid was happy to see them when they came back.
I'm not sure what the plan for the day is. It might involve going to Grayson to K-Mart. (Don't laugh, but I want to buy Martha Stewart sheets. Maybe.) It might involve staying home all day doing nothing, which sounds likely. The weather looks to be nice, so it's pretty sucky that M. is sick. :(
