Thursday morning
Mar. 27th, 2003 11:34 amArgh. Just lost my internet connection. How am I supposed to get anything done? How did people get anything done before there was an internet?! Terrifying thought! Oh, nevermind. It came back. That was close.
Last night, Magnus made up for the Lunch Incident and took me to Cutter's for dinner. Cutter's is The Steakhouse in town, and it'll be out of business pretty soon. Yes, the lovely organization (Nationwide Insurance) that they lease their building from is evicting them, and the restaraunt next door, because they're late with their payments--although they apparently haven't changed the way they pay the rent, the company is taking exception to it now. Of course, there's a reason for this.. Lowe's thinks that that would be the ideal location for them to put in a new store. I think it's pretty cool that we're getting a Lowe's, but there's an empty Kroger building in the same shopping center.. I don't really see why they couldn't put it there. In any case, we've been avoiding Cutter's lately anyway because the food stopped being as good. We were kind of going to say goodbye, knowing fully well it'd be the last time we'd be there. Surprise! It was extremely good, and now we're going to have to mourn the place after all. ;) (Don't get me started on Trevino's.. right, chick?) Magnus ordered the appetizer sampler thing. He ate all he could hold, and we brought the rest home.. it's enough for at least two lunches. Incredible. Just hope that it reheats well.
I got up early today.. 8:30. I've also done some free consulting work for M's company. He's been working on their website, adding a specific page in a subdirectory for one particular large client. He got it done, but when he uploaded it the page didn't work, so he wanted advice on fixing it. He sent me the url and went off to the bathroom and into the front room. I was going to tell him how to do it but then realized it would be quicker to do it myself than write it down, so I edited the file and sent it back to him. When he came back, the changes were there waiting on him.. and he didn't even know I was out of bed! *giggle* I thought it was pretty funny. Very dorky, but funny. I'm charging him a consulting fee, of course. $5.83 and ten kisses. :)
My goal today is to get some more work done on the site I mentioned. This is the largest project I've taken on, I believe, and it's turning out to require a bunch of research. I got an outline done last night, though, and so I can get going more easily now. Magnus and I are having a lot of fun with trying to come up with a name for it. In every email we've sent each other almost, we've mentioned the site somehow, always referring to it with a different name. The idea is that eventually we'll come up with something perfect. It hasn't happened yet. Magnus almost threw me out of bed last night, though, for making such a horrible pun and then giggling about it...
But tell me, don't you think bjornintheusa.com would be perfect? ;)
