Friday night ramblings
Jun. 7th, 2003 12:34 amNaturally, Adelphia didn't show up today. They did call this time, though, which almost sucks--last time we got $20 from them for not showing up. That might also be why they have to call now. ;) According to Brady (he introduced himself, hence I know his name), lots of people have called in with this problem, and the issue is with a router "in like, Atlanta or Texas." He said that the bad news was that they were talking about having it fixed by sometime next week. I didn't tell the poor guy that if they manage to fix a problem as soon as next week, then I'm actually impressed with their speed. We tend to have troublesome connectivity that just drags on and on. The big question is whether DSL would be any better.. I don't know anyone in the area who has it to even ask.
I didn't get to enjoy my free afternoon off work, though. I spend the entire time cleaning the house. I even did the dishes (M's job). I've just been so tired that I haven't cared if the whole place haired over, as my mom would say, and it was rather nice to see some sparkle in the house. I didn't finish entirely, but it's pretty much done. I guess you're never really done, are you?
We took a nice walk through town tonight. We parked (in front of Martin's, for you Morehead-related readers), walked down to Arby's and had dinner, walked to the bookstore for just a minute, and then walked back through First Street. It's the Bluegrass and More week. We didn't stay to listen to the music long..just walked on up the street to see what was going on, went up by Pasquale's and then back down to the car. It was a tad bit warmer than necessary, but an extremely pleasant summer evening walk. Humid, though.. it's raining now, so I hope that helps. And I hope that it doesn't rain all weekend like it's supposed to. We've had a sickeningly rainy spring, which I'm sure you folks suffering from a drought will just love hearing about. People have put their gardens out and they're rotting in the ground, so they have to replant. (This is actually not a bad thing if one works for a produce market that sells seeds and plants.. *cackle*) The grass is growing like crazy everywhere, but it stays too wet to mow. But at least the temperature is finally above freezing. ;)
I'm now down to once a week for my chiro visits. Yay! My shoulder still feels bruised, so I'm glad to report that he left it mostly alone. M and I got to go in together, and that was nice. I had to look away when he cracked M's neck, though. It looked scary. :) He's sending me to have a massage next Friday. (In the office, that is.) I don't think I'm looking forward to it, actually, because I suspect it's not going to be a nice massage. I guess we'll see about that next week.
Tomorrow, we have big plans involving the festival and Lexington. We might even buy a thing or two this time.. we often go shopping and come home without a single bag. ;) I guess we'll skip the fair.. it's in town this weekend, too. I don't think I'll skip bedtime, though.. sleepy girls must take long naps.
