Out of touch.
Jun. 17th, 2003 11:29 pmI'm not trying to be antisocial this time.. our electrical situations have put a crimp in our lifestyle. ;) I've mentioned that our internet connection has had issues lately. They're still not completely resolved, so in between bouts of connectivity, we're also experiencing power outages. Yippee. We had one last Sunday night for three hours, and it was off again this morning when we got up. I'm not sure how long exactly it was out, but certainly it was when I was getting ready for work. And last night, I fell asleep on the couch at nine. I have tomorrow off, though.. tremendously excited about that. I have a lunch date with my cousin Rae and a massage at 4. Doesn't it just sound lovely?
M: Ooooh, if we get 15,500 more points, we could get a 50 inch high-definition plasma tv!
K: How many do we have now?
M: 308.
Okay, perhaps not. Now he's talking about nosehair trimmers. From one end of the cool spectrum to the other...
I've joined a couple of mailing lists for computer scrapbooking, which is nice. I get to see lots of layouts, some of which are incredibly good. The list also allows attachments, which is not the bad planning it seems.. gotta be able to send jpgs of your layouts to the list if it's going to be a list about layouts. The problem, naturally, is that people are always sending html mail. Argh. I thought that was illegal by now. :) I was working on a new page, but when the internet connection came back, I decided to jump on it, since I don't know how long it'll last. I'm having a really hard time figuring out what to do pages on. Without even going through my drawer of paper pictures, we have a LOT of nicely sorted digital pictures.. but where to start?
I hope I'm not getting sick. I was dizzy this afternoon, and now I'm queasy. And no, I'm not pregnant. As far as I know. Though Magnus was a little concerned this weekend. On Saturday night, through choice quotation-readings, he figured out that I was searching for quotes about children, and then on Sunday, he received a Father's Day ecard. "Baby?!" he says, his voice filled with alarm, "I thought you said you weren't trying to tell me anything?!" Hehehe. I didn't send the card, of course.. Harvey did. Think we're a little too attached to that sheep? Anyway, I was just saying that I haven't felt quite right today. Of course, I also spent an hour working in leaky vidalias, and that's when the dizziness started. Did you know that a vidalia onion has more sugar in it than an orange? Supposedly, at least. I haven't actually measured the sugar content for myself, but that's what one of the market guys told Dad, and I can't imagine why he would make something like that up. I do know that bad sweet onions attract more gnats than peaches, nectarines and plums put together, and that's saying quite a bit. Man, I hate gnats. I'm learning that I hate quite a lot of produce and produce pests (such as gnats and Hateful Old Men) now.
My cousin Brad got his driver's license today. Stay off the roads, everyone. ;)
