We've had a strangely non-computery sort of evening. We've spent it in front of the TV for the most part, watching VH1's top 200 pop culture icons. We tend to be a little surprised by their ordering system.. particularly M. This isn't surprising, since as I've mentioned on previous occasions, I have no sense of popular culture and therefore, why should I be offended if Leo diCaprio ranks higher than John Wayne? :) I suggested that the show might be better if there were no official rankings, actually.
Today was long and boring. I finished a little tatted square on a lacy mat thingie I started months and months ago and never finished. I have six completed now.. I need sixteen. Or twenty-five. totte) can see that I do know how to multiply. :p He's always making fun of my math skills. Usually deservedly, but not always. :) Anyway, it wouldn't take me all that long if I would just stick with it.. I think that back when I was working on the other five, it took about 45 minutes to complete one. It's taken longer than that this time, because I've been hopelessly sidetrackable. I don't think that's a real word, though.
One of our neighbors wrote a check at the store a couple of months ago for $48 and it bounced. She bought flowers; we joked that we could always go dig them up.. they're visible from the house. Anyway, Dad talked to her a few times about it before she finally sent someone in with the money. The funny part? She called my dad a week or so later, saying that her landlord is going to kick her out and could she rent a place from him? That lady has balls, I'll give her that. Not only is she admitting to being kicked out, but she's written this guy a cold check, and she still thinks he'll rent to her. If only she knew. My father is hopelessly picky about who he'll rent to. Hoochie mamas need not apply. Not that this lady is a hoochie mama. Too tired to properly convey the applicant they had last time.
Ugh. Falling asleep in chair. Better be off to bed without all the rambling I was going to treat you fine folks to tonight. Tomorrow, maybe.
