We went to WalMart last night so I could buy myself a jumprope. I don't know what I was thinking, honestly. I can't use it indoors (ceilings are too low) and it's not like I go outdoors voluntarily. I read in Parade on Sunday that ten minutes of jumping rope is as good for your heart as thirty minutes of jogging. I'm all about saving time. Of course, it occurs to me now that it's also quicker to not bother with it at all. Actually, we're thinking about buying a stepper thingie or possibly a stationary bicycle. We'd rather have a treadmill but we don't have a chance of fitting it in the house. I would just rather have something small to collect dust instead of something large. I'm realistic--I like the idea of heavy exercise, but in practice, it really sucks.

Why did I never know that I like MASH? It's pathetic. Can't I dislike something without the husband wearing me down? TV is possibly our largest source of disagreement, actually. I'm sorry to say that M has control issues with the remote. ;) I'm actually pretty good-natured, though, and will often sit on the couch with him and let him flip through channels while I read or write or whatever. I'm not a big enough fan of the television in general to worry over it--which is good, because if I have the remote, he finds an excuse to leave the room. ;) But I've rather worn him down on the subject of soap operas, at least. He's following the serial killer storyline now, although it was initially against his will. He still thinks Passions is stupid beyond belief, though, which I can't really fault him for. It is stupid, mainly.

Apparently I'm funny today, in my real life. Usually I can only have one or the other, so you poor folks are just missing out all the good funny. M laughed so hard this morning that he actually ran down the hallway and pounded on the walls. Frankly, that disturbed me a little bit. Why would he pound on the walls when he laughed? He's silly. He keeps laughing at all my jokes today, though. I wonder if he wants something and is just trying to butter me up?

Butter me up.. darnit, now I'm hungry.

I don't think I've mentioned that we're getting company! M's friend Tomas will be here in less than three weeks to spend ten days or so. That should be fun. He was here once before, in 2001. Actually, he was here in April then, too. Apparently, he only likes to travel in April. He has been drafted to bring plenty of (Slott's) mustard--M is out and they stopped carrying it at Jungle Jim's. It was horrendously overpriced anyway--they put it in a pretty glass jar and charged about six bucks for a cup or so. Anyway, I've threatened to set him up with someone so he can move closer but we don't have any single friends. Sucks. Any suggestions on the matter will be duly considered.
