The Joys of Pizza
Jul. 10th, 2004 12:15 amWe ordered pizza tonight for the first time since we moved. Do you understand what a luxury it is to pick up a phone, state your name and address and have a pizza at your door minutes later? Oh, sure, there was pizza delivery in Morehead. Pizza delivery has long been my standard for how far out of town I want to live--far enough to not have neighbors; close enough for food deliveries. I'm just saying.. it's not a new advancement in technology for me or anything. The incredible part is that we didn't have to have an extended discussion on how to get here. They didn't ask. They didn't call. They didn't lecture me about the evils of sharing an address with someone else* and how 911 gets really upset by that--I remember writing about that once but I can't be bothered to look up when it was. It was a peaceful, tasty pizza experience. That's somewhere near the bottom of the list of things I need, though--someone to make my pizza-buying less stressful. Yikes.
*Since we moved out, my parents have actually gone down and filed for a new address--couldn't really have someone else's mail delivered to their mailbox. We didn't get around to it in three years, but it just took a form to get the job done. Why must I procrastinate all the time? It's silly.
