Cars, headaches and sad news.
Aug. 1st, 2004 08:36 pmWe took our little car on an adventure today! We drove it aaalll the way to Lexington! Big trip for such a poor little car! We had buying a new (old) one in mind--not that we would probably have found something we liked and gotten it all sorted out today, but we wanted to be prepared. If we'd realized that nothing would have been open, we probably would have stayed at home, though. We bought a few books at a vendor's mall in Versailles on the way back, though, and a game for the Game Boy, so can't complain too much.
At the moment, I have a headache which doesn't show much sign of dissappearing. I think it's related to my sleeping schedule of late--I was up and about an hour earlier than normal last week, and I slept way too much on Friday night. Last night, though, we were up way too late--we were in Lexington with J and A playing cards and drinking massive amounts of tea and didn't get home until almost two in the morning. We both slept badly, and then I couldn't fall asleep again when I woke up at early today when the phone rang and couldn't fall asleep again. (More on that in a minute.) The weekend has felt long, which means that I'm not resenting the Sundayness of it too terribly bad yet.
As I mentioned, the phone woke me up this morning. It was my mom with sad news--the great-aunt that I mentioned recently died this morning. It was so expected, but it's still such a sad thing. I know that she's in a better place now, and out of the pain that she's been living with for so long, but I.. well, I just wish it could be different. I don't know yet about funeral arrangements but I guess we'll be headed in that direction sometime this week.
