Exaggeration.. it's what's for dinner.
Mar. 10th, 2005 10:30 pmI had a posting dilemma of epic proportions tonight. See, I came home from work and checked mail and LJ quickly, ate a quick dinner and then knitted furiously for three hours, finishing up a baby bootie (well, minus the finishing part.. just need to sew it up now) and working on a couple of my countless ongoing projects, all of which have been languishing while I knit exclusively on M's scarf at work--nearing completion--and do basically nothing at home. A friend at work started this baby hat and bootie craze a few weeks ago, and so now the entire guild has the set in various stages of completion. I used the wrong yarn, though, and I think my hat, though absolutely darling, is too small for anything but perhaps a preemie and I think my booties look a little funny, so I think I'll find a doll for the set. It has looked a little suspicious, what with six women sitting in the canteen knitting baby booties and none of them admitting to having a bun in the oven. Anyway, again, not the point.
So after the knitting spree, I came back upstairs and that's when the dilemma occured. I realized that if I started posting in my journal as per the usual schedule, I would not have time for all the ice cream waiting for me downstairs. My sweetie brought ice cream for my on Tuesday as a metaphor for his love. Don't ask. It was so much sweeter at the time but now it kind of sounds less than intensely cute since ice cream is cold and hard and lumpy. But you know.. as I like to say.. true love arrives with Ben & Jerry's, so it did work. So you can see why this is a short post--I had to make sure to pay proper homage to the ice cream. Because I am all about the priorities.
