Late last night, I headed off to bed with my book. Before I got there, I stopped to complain about how it would be nice if we had a couch upstairs. We don't spend much time downstairs anymore.. we don't like to be on different floors, for one thing, so either we both go or neither of us do, as a rule. But last night, it was almost bedtime but not quite late enough that I needed to be in bed. M suggested that a chair would work, and then we discussed the fact that we do have a recliner downstairs that we never ever use, as we always sit on the couch, and then, suddenly, we were lugging a heavy chair up the stairs. (Our neighbors! They love us!) I let my furniture muse work on it this afternoon, and by the time M came home, I had come up with a house-wide furniture rearrangement to make this new setup work. So we shifted all sorts of things around, and accomplished a bit of cleaning while we were at it. (I was raised so that if you move a piece of furniture for whatever reason, you must vacuum under it immediately.) You know, in a household where at least one of us is allergic to dust, doesn't it look like we would do that kind of cleaning more often? Not so bright here. Anyway, it is now new and interesting in our house, and most of it is for the better, I think. Some of it is a little weird, but most of it looks good. As soon as we were done with that, it was Book Half Hour, and I actually came up with the Why and How of the most crucial plot problem, with a bit of assistance from M. So that was good.

I am currently reading Harry Potter. I just started (and when I say "just" I mean, I haven't finished reading the second line) of The Goblet of Fire (4). I am somewhat astonished by how addicting it is, and even more surprised at how astonished I am. Plenty of people I know--reasonable, rational adults--are into it, after all. I don't know why I didn't expect that I would enjoy it as much as I have been. So I have three left, and one other book that I ordered, and then it will possibly be late enough that I can start with the re-reading of Wheel of Time. Always like to re-read before a new book comes out. Lots of quality book time coming up! Yay! And so, I might as well get started on that, and also examine how it is to have the reading chair up here. Off I go!
