At work, break time is at ten and three. I mean, it's not an official time and we don't clock in or out anything like that, but most people tend to go at those times. So when my cellphone--which is usually in my pocket on silent, which I am telling you for no reason whatsoever--buzzed at me, I was on break. This was convenient as it was [livejournal.com profile] big_bubba calling to tell me the news about the baby for blog purposes. (He sounded so proud! It was sweet.) I was able to post to [livejournal.com profile] carrieb's blog from work* but Livejournal is blocked again so I couldn't post here. And.. since it was still break and I live three miles away... I could come home right then to post in her LJ. (As I told M, this is where all the cool people are! Couldn't leave you all hanging!) See, am I not dedicated? Anyway, I'm telling you this for three reasons, two of which is aimed at one person. 1.) Hello? Are you there? Are you still not with the program of how I can't tell a short story like "Thumper is here; posted to C's journal about it."? 2.) Mike, I promise that I am really not a moron but I was so happy for you two that I couldn't stop saying congratulations. Sorry about that. 3.) Also? What I was doing at break? Sitting at my desk, reading Wheel of Time. It kind of made me giggle when I saw on the caller ID who it had to be. ;)

So, that was kind of fun. I was happy to get to be a tiny tiny little part of their big day. That sounds so disgustingly sappy that I want to poke my eye out with a spoon. Oh, well. I called M "shmoobear" this afternoon so I guess I can stop trying to pretend that I am not the sappy sort at any time now.

Okay, moving right along. I also discovered today that in four minutes, I can run upstairs, turn my on computer, wash my hands, check mail, read a little LJ, copy a CD and run back down the stairs and to the kitchen (opposite end of the house). My life, it is just so exciting. Gripping, as [livejournal.com profile] courtesy would say. I keep using those LJ tags in this entry, which I am customarily too onery to do all that much. Who else can I talk about? I guess I could go back and replace every "M" reference with [livejournal.com profile] totte. Except I hate it when people do that. No offense, if you do.. whatever turns your crank and all. I'm more of a once-per-post sort of gal, if at all--obviously I rarely do M's.

Speaking of M, I wonder what the chances are that he'll actually get to leave work on time today? Grr. I guess I'll find out here in a minute if he does or doesn't call. It actually doesn't freak me out when he works late without calling because he calls me as soon as he leaves. Therefore, if he hasn't called yet, he's still at work. I did ask him last night if he was having an affair, though. ;) Not seriously, of course. Although if I hear of any internet porn stars working there perhaps I will worry.. and yes, it will probably be quite some time before I let that go.

Zuma called. Said I have been ignoring her today; must run...

*Ironically, I have a pretty iron-clad rule about not blogging from work. I will read blogs, but I won't log in to LJ (this is why you might sometimes get comments from [livejournal.com profile] samesky) with this user ID, and I never, ever post. But yet.. I happily posted to someone else's blog while at work. I don't really know what the distinction is, in retrospect.

We just got our phone bill. Guess what! Our long distance this month was $189.57! For two calls to Sweden! When we signed up with them they swore it was going to be nine cents a minute. (Long story as to why we (temporarily) switched as that's still more than we were paying before.) They charged us $2.25 PER MINUTE for those calls. WTF? AND! That long story as to why we switched was relating to saving $10 a month on our internet service. They are still charging us the old rate, after being sworn to by people last month when I called that it would be on this month's bill!

They will know my wrath. And they are out of their ever-loving minds if they think I'm going to pay them $155.85 (plus tax) for $6.21 worth of calls.
