Two computers are exponentially louder than one computer. Right now I'm at home, and the only thing on in the entire house is my computer. The silence, it is golden. M's computer is almost always on as he is a bandwidth hog and the less said about that the better, and one of his hard drives sounds unfortunately like a dying elephant--and has ever since we bought it. And in a few minutes, I'll turn the TV on for background noise as I tinker with my Christmas list for this year, and possibly straighten up some things and do some laundry, but for now.. it's perfect.

(Why, yes, I am home in the middle of the day. For, VACATION. There is no end to the joy of a four-and-a-half day weekend. Well, technically there is an end to that joy, and the name is Tuesday, but hush, I don't want to think about that yet by any means.)

M and I have some burgeoning plans for a weekend project, barring any creative droughts. And we have shopping time scheduled for tonight and one additional day. And we have dinner plans with a friend from work. Although, this is the same person who is trying to draw us into the World of Warcraft online game so I'm not sure I should call her a friend. *laugh* We have ten free days now to try it, but I'm having my doubts that we'll stick with it after that. For one thing, it's pretty likely that I can't play it anyway, because some games of that type give me motion sickness. And to pay actual money to someone every month for a game.. that's not so much our style. But as I told her.. we have made a conscious decision to avoid that type of game. I mean.. think of how we met. Online games of that type can be addicting beyond measure, and we have both already kicked our addiction. Must not start back with a new, expensive crack.. at least the muds were free.

Anyway, must compile Christmas list now. Why does my mom make fun of me for having a color-coded, typed Christmas list? And (worse yet) for keeping records of what we bought for every single person and how much we paid (with and without tax) each year? I just don't understand! It's so practical!
