Christmas Update
Dec. 25th, 2005 05:49 pmSo the Christmas thing is over for another year. We're still in at my parents house, and at the moment we're the only ones here. We were at Papaw Brack's house all day but I finally couldn't take it anymore so we came home early. Well, I made that sound like I couldn't handle being there with my family but I have a migraine at the moment (actually, I woke up with a headache on Friday and have had it off and on ever since, and today it is all on, all the time.) But anyway, there is blessed quiet and for that I am profoundly grateful. Wish I'd turned out the overhead light before I sat down, though. Oh, well.
Giftly speaking, I had a good Christmas. M bought me a pearl ring, pearl earrings, a watch, two books.. well, three, but one of them cost six times more than the other.. a photoshop type book. I picked all of that out, one way or another, but he also bought me a tiny desk refrigerator. As for my parents, this was the year of all things fuzzy--they bought me a fuzzy soft robe and sweater and gloves and scrunchies. That wasn't an official theme or anything, it just happened that way. There were three other shirts and a cute little soup pot and a necklace and a pair of earrings. And! And! There was also a larger combined present for M and me... a KitchenAid mixer! You might have to be a food geek (possibly even just a FoodTV geek, as they are so hot looking on those shows) to get excited over it but I've always wanted one and couldn't justify paying that much for a mixer. Actually, our hand mixer broke during an unfortunate meatball moment, and by the way, if you unwisely use the phrase "beat your meat" when referring to your broken mixer, your family WILL make fun of you profusely. Okay, anyway, what I was going to say was that M tried to talk me into buying a KitchenAid just last week and I was too responsible to give in to the greed. So yay! I have a fun new expensive toy that I didn't have to pay for! Whee! When can I start buying attachments?? :)
I thought I had more to say but I don't remember what it would be. Think it's time to go get a head rub from the boy. Also.. dial-up--people actually live like this??? Gee, I barely remember those days...
