Two nights before our wedding, we had the rehearsal at the church. Our wedding was pretty low-key, so it wasn't that surprising that we realized that we had a few unresolved issues. As it turned out, we rather hated all the vows that the pastor (my great-uncle) had in his stock vow book, so we had to go come up with our own. Hated is a strong word.. they just didn't feel right. So we took a bunch of different things from different places and faxed the outcome to Uncle John the next morning so he could read through it a little before the ceremony. We were extremely happy with them, except a year later we realized that we didn't actually say "I do" anywhere in the vows. We also had realized that we didn't have much in the way of music, so we made a couple of CDs..one for the wedding and one for the reception. I unpacked CDs tonight and saw the reception one, so I put it in the player while I cleaned. Then I thought, hey! I can write about the songs of our wedding instead of a real entry! No one will ever notice!

I Should Do Laundry (The Haiku)

My socks were off-white
I hope D didn't notice
She always matches

Vodka cream pasta
I forgot to add basil
It gave me heartburn

Tomorrow's Friday
And I can leave at lunchtime
Which makes me happy
