Oi.

Our little Scandinavian club has a newsletter that comes out every few months. They also have, in the last year or two, started sending as many as possible by email as .pdf, to save on postage and printing costs. They've been pushing that, and also mentioning the upcoming website lately, and they're making some progress. People seem to be excited about the club moving into the technological age. Remember, most of them are elderly folks with little to no initial interest in the internet. It's a big deal that they have an interest now!

Today we were at the Syttende Mai picnic, and the newsletter thing came up again. One of the benefits of receiving it by email is that you get it in color, where the printed one is black and white. One of the ladies heard this, and turned to Andy, who is one of our good friends. "In color?" she said in surprise. "Who's paying for that?"

Perhaps they are not moving into this century quite as quickly as I thought.

Mosaic Minds

Done! This has been the weekend of quiet, desperate Mosaic Minds stress. There just isn't enough time, ever, in a weekend. One of my big problems was that until yesterday, I thought that the 15th was Tuesday and not Monday. We always try to get the site live on the night before the actual issue date, and I thought I could finish up on Monday. That would have left me with plenty of time! Unfortunately, we had plans for yesterday afternoon (Scandinavian club picnic) which we didn't get home from until ten or eleven and then we didn't get home tonight until 9:30. I had about an hour's worth of work (counting the emails. Carrie and I usually send a flurry of emails on the night before launch, because procrastination is life.) So, this post? Not going to be very long because sometimes I like to sleep. But it's done now and that's all that counts. It always feels nice to know that the next issue crunch is six weeks away.

Mosaic Minds - Anticipation.. Masthead is by [livejournal.com profile] lizardek this time and I happen to think it's fantastic. :) (p.s. Masthead submissions are always welcome!)
