Today was a day without a whole lot of work in it. We have an annual holiday dinner at work. It was catered this year, so I didn't even have to cook anything last night to prepare--that was nice. They give us 2.5 hours for lunch, and we play games afterward--very fun, all bonding and crap. It's been Cranium for the last two years that I've been there, but today we played an excruciatingly boring game of TriBond. Well, it's fun with the laughing and the togetherness and all that, but the game itself kind of sucked. And I'm not just saying that because we lost! No, really. Save your money on that one. And in the afternoon, there was the gift exchange, which is always fun. That's more than I usually say about work, and basically all I am telling you is that we didn't do much today because of the holiday celebrations. Lovely. Your tax dollars at work!
I was was productive this evening, though, and came home to make dinner, and then finish up my Christmas present wrapping. So, I have now finished shopping, wrapping, and also sending Christmas cards. How motivated, since it is only the week before Christmas! Okay, not so much on the motivation, but at least it's done. And off the list. It's pretty nice, though, because I was all stressed out about when I was going to get everything done this year, and I think I'm actually done before I usually am. We now have Saturday completely unscheduled and no idea what we're going to be doing. That's better than the average weekend of this time of year, and for it to be the day before Christmas Eve, no less! Oh, speaking of Christmas cards.. there are a couple of people who I would normally have sent a card to, but I don't seem to have an address for anymore, due to lack of brain cells or computer malfunction. If you're one of those people--sorry!
The boy is watching Beavis and Butthead. It's very, very annoying, so I think it would be a good time to retire to my bed with my very good book. (Re-reading for the thirtieth time, so I kind of know how it turns out and am therefore qualified to say that.) It seems like this show was funnier ten years ago, somehow. I wonder why that is? ;)
