I started coughing, last night, out of the blue, and have been coughing all day. My throat is feeling scratchy. I have had several instances where I thought I was getting sick and then nothing developed, but I'm not so sure I can see it happening this time, what with the cough, which sounds terrible. We're kind of in the middle of a winter storm, which was originally forecasted at three to six inches of snow, and it's abnormally cold. It just does not leave me inspired to venture out of the house. I'd rather stay snug and warm, with M home with me, in my pajamas tomorrow. Also, we can't find a filter for our humidifier, and there is not a drop of moisture anywhere in my head, so the weather is really putting a crimp in my style here. Oh, and apparently pregnancy has brought out super-protective instincts in my parents. My dad called me this afternoon to tell me to give him a call as soon as I got home from work so he wouldn't worry about me driving home in the snow... hehe.
I did just schedule a day off next Thursday. That's what I get for joking about needing to take a day off to wait on the cable guy. I could work for a couple of hours but between the installation and a doctors appointment, it hardly seems worth the trouble. Too bad I didn't schedule them both for Friday. :)
M has been working hard on the bedroom/bathroom renovation, and he's currently in the process of refinishing the floors in the bathroom. The hardwood in there was awful and/or ruined, especially in front of the shower. He sanded the whole floor and is putting a new layer of polyurethane on top. It looks mostly fabulous, but is extremely stinky. The area in front of the shower still has a few dark spots, but we know where to buy rugs, so we're just going to go with that for a solution. As for the smell... well, we have the room sealed off with tape, and an insanely loud bathroom fan running constantly. I was very worried about the fumes, but can't smell it at all even in the hallway outside the room and I have a super-sensitive nose right now. Well, I did sneak in there for a moment to look at the floors tonight, but the smell ran me out super-fast. I am now wondering how the heck we're going to get the smell to go away without opening doors to let it all dissipate, which we can't do because then I can't live here. There's a window, but it's freezing outside. I guess it'll fade eventually.
Anyway, I had better go because it's time for my hourly trip to the potty, and dutiful-me read my relevant chapters (I was behind) in my pregnancy books last night and found out all about how UTIs are the tool of the devil and how it is very important not to skimp on the bathroom runs--go as soon as you need to! To which I say--ha! That's a lot easier said than done when one is spending half of their life in the bathroom already...
