We have baby stuff now! We have ridiculous amounts of baby stuff! We have many more tiny adorable clothes than the child will ever be able to wear! And we brought it in tonight and stacked it all up on the dresser to sort through, and it occurs to me that it is now time to.. actually put the room together. Put these adorable little socks away in drawers and bring in the rest of the furniture and.. nest. The pamphlet they gave us at our childbirth class said that the urge to nest happened within one or two days of labor. I beg to differ, since I have been nesting for months already.

So anyway, the shower was nice. We received only one package of diapers, which surprised the heck out of me. Five of wipes, though. No diaper bag and no baby book--both of those were things I was hoping I would be able to pick out myself. Lots and lots of clothes. Having the Ducky theme seemed to really help with giving people a focus, let's just say that. Perhaps the most unusual thing that we received was a large duck semi-mesh standing laundry container. I can't describe it in words. It contained a bunch of stuff from J, my (former) sister-in-law. I laughed and said I couldn't imagine where she would even have found such an item. Apparently it was a store display and not for sale, except she begged, and then gave them five bucks for it. She was always a good shopper.

After that, we spent the night with my parents, along with my niece, and went to church with them this morning. This was followed by the grilling of burgers and hot dogs and an Easter egg hunt. I did not hide nor hunt any eggs this year, but spent most of the day with my feet up when I could. And napping. I napped twice. I am seriously narcoleptic these days. Ducky taunted various family members by being generally quieter than usual and then moving around... until someone came to feel or watch.

All of the people involved in the shower wore yellow shirts in honor of Ducky. My niece, however, took the prize for cutest attire.

Anyway, two naps were apparently not enough, and I still need to retire on the early side. I switched my day off this week to Friday, which will be great.. on Friday. It is going to be the suck tomorrow morning.
