I thought maybe soaking my feet in Epsom salt would make the swelling in my feet go down. For future reference, that didn't really work. They actually got really tight and feel much worse than they did before. M was afraid to even touch them because he thought maybe he would accidentally pop one, like a balloon. Meanwhile, Ducky is really dropping. M walked in the door this evening and froze briefly before bursting into laughter. I was trying to get an answer out of him as to what was so funny, and finally he said "Profile! Turn!" So, it is apparently immediately obvious. I had told him earlier that my belly was looking different but I didn't expect spontaneous laughter over it.

I have been working full-time this evening on the list, and have made excellent progress. I have washed the car seat cover (including hand-washing the canopy that goes over it!) I have written a sympathy card! And paid the bills! And emailed people! And.. added more things to the list. I can't win for losing. I know it will be okay if we don't have everything done before she gets here, but I can't quite stop focusing on it. Can you believe we don't have our hospital bags packed? We have a list or three about it, but we haven't done it yet. That is so unlike me.

I fell in love today. I sent M a telegram about it. It went like this:

DO YOU KNOW HOW GOOD DORITOS ARE STOP
THEY ARE CRISPY TANGY AND DELICIOUS STOP
MUST BUY MORE DORITOS STOP
DORITOS ARE LOVE STOP

I have no idea. I bought a bunch of little bags of chips because I was in a spell of queasiness for a couple of weeks and salt usually helps with that, and there were a few Doritos thrown in. I'm not a huge Doritos fan normally. Couldn't tell you the last time I bought any. It just struck me this morning that they are a lovely food product. There is no need to be commenting about Dorito consumption and massively swollen feet, btw.

M is regaling me with stories about how big his head is, and how hats don't fit him and he has never met anyone with a larger head than his. Is that not a cruel and unusual thing to do to your baby-expecting wife? Ducky, your next instructions are to get your head size from your mother and not your father.
