There is just not enough time in this day! We had two separate shopping errands, and still managed to get a lot of work done around the house. I tend to lose energy pretty quickly, but some periods of rest helped me keep going today. While M was out making our house look nice, I did a lot of putting things away, laundry, dishes--okay, dishwasher only but even that required me to sit down halfway through so it counts--and other exciting noone-cares tasks! Right now, getting up to go pee feels sort of like an accomplishment so I was pretty proud of staying "on" all day. Unfortunately, I now have ominous back pain.

Speaking of ominous, I have a file at work that I have been compiling of maternity leave notes--hours and leave slips, etc. I opened it up on Friday to double-check my numbers and found, at the bottom of a list of hours used per pay period throughout this summer, two additional lines. One said "ominous" and the next line said "fish". That's all. I have no memory of writing this. Ominous I can guess at--I often use any available Word document to type words that look weird to me or that I need synonyms for. Heaven knows why I needed to use the word "ominous" at work because I honestly couldn't tell you, but it's almost familiar that I was thinking about that word relatively recently. But ominous fish? WTF was I possibly doing? I am really a quite good speller, and I can assure you that I have never been in question of how to spell it.

My in-laws sent me a birthday present, which I opened prematurely. I think they would probably fuss because I opened it before my birthday, if they knew, but we don't think they really know about our journals. M usually won't let me open stuff early when it comes from them because they feel strongly about it, but he is being incredibly indulgent with me of late--I think it's because he feels sorry for me that I am so miserably uncomfortable. Anyway, they sent me a pair of clog-like shoes. M can't see his way free to calling them clogs because they are cork soled instead of wood. They're quite cute, really--navy with a yellow stripe running up the center and white trim. Svenska skor! M apparently told them my shoe size and it was converted so that this is theoretically the right size for me. But.. I can't even begin to stick my sausage feet into them, so I can't tell. ;( It's very disappointing, especially because they seem to be super-comfortable from what I could tell. I hope when the swelling goes down, they fit perfectly. It might very well happen--none of my shoes fit now--but who knows?

Reason #897312 that I love M: He posted about the dork-o yard map we came up with last year. I have had that stupid thing on my to-do list for a full year, and so now that he has done it, I can take it off MY list without doing anything other than scanning a piece of paper and resizing a picture. Yay! No-cost to-do progress!

(When M and I were dating? We ended every email with a randomly numbered Reason. It was so, sooo sweet. That's where my randomly numbered true confession came from the other night. Much easier if one just makes up numbers than trying to keep them straight.)
