Guess what! M and I are going out on a date tomorrow night to see the Harry Potter movie! My mom is coming down and will watch the baby while we go! I am kind of excited. I've left her with Mom before but not for this long. I think we may even have dinner while we're out. My mom is awesome. M's wisdom teeth removal is Thursday morning, so she'll also be around for that, which makes things easier.

Tonight, we went out to buy ice cream in preparation for M's inability to eat solid food. My dear, sweet husband bought three different cartons of ice cream for his recovery. I think perhaps he is looking forward to one aspect of this a little too much.

I am reading To Kill a Mockingbird for the first time, and am surprised to find that I am enjoying it very much. I didn't read it in high school because the honors class I was in read something else while everyone else read this. I think it might have been The Grapes of Wrath that we read instead. I always feel a trifle strange when I read something for pleasure that I would previously only have read because I was required to do so. I've been out of high school for ten years and I still feel that way. One day I'm going to realize I'm a grown-up, but I guess it won't be today.

In other news, my sweet baby was a tiny brat last night, and refused to stay asleep until 2:30. She sounds like she's gearing up for the same sort of night again, so I'd better get to bed so I can take over the next shift. Having a baby is fun but maybe not so much during the night hours.
