Guess what we're doing in preparation for M's parents? We're hanging pictures! We have only lived here a year and a half, you know. If we procrastinated any more, we would put off breathing, too. It looks nice, though.

I carved out a little bit of time this evening to sew. I did this by depositing a baby in M's lap while he was playing a computer game. Evelyn has been a daddy's girl today anyway so I don't think either of them minded much. :) We went to the IT picnic hosted by my former employer today, and she napped in Daddy's arms while I ate. She's so sweet. There were three babies there today. Evelyn looked at the eight-month-old little girl like, "huh. I thought I was the only one." I think it's actually the first time she's really met another baby. She was unimpressed. ;) Hmm, well, I guess the druggie cousin's baby was there at the Memorial Day shindig but as Evelyn was only two weeks old then, I don't think she has any memory of it. I don't really think she has any memory of the baby she met today, either, but still. I held that baby, by the way. She was a little bigger than E, but not all that much. Meanwhile, there was another baby born in April there, and he looked tiny. I never got a chance to hold him so I'm not positive, but he sure looked small. Our baby is a giant. I wonder how much longer I'll be able to carry her before she is taller than me? (There you go, M. A short joke that you didn't even have to make! Merry Christmas.)

I have a baby book on my desk that I have barely written in at all. Is this important or can I just refer her to this journal once she's a certain age and wonders about her babyhood? Bah. I really need to write things down but it's so boring! Pen and paper! How outdated.
