I have been a touch unreliable in the posting department lately. I am accustomed to posting at night but lately, I'm a bit busy in the evenings with a little girl who just doesn't see the point in sitting at the computer typing, unless, of course, she is the one doing the typing. When she was a tiny little baby, I tried to get her to play with the keyboard because it would be cute, but her little arms were too short to even reach over the palm-rest thing at the bottom, and also, she was completely uninterested in pretending to type. Now, of course, she wants to touch anything that she sees so she likes to 'help' me type and that would not make for good reading. She's taking a lovely little nap, though, so I figured it would be a good time to ramble.

My parents and niece came down last night, and I fed them well with a lovely meal of chicken fettuccine alfredo, with cheesy garlic bread. From homemade bread! That I made just for garlic bread! Actually, I used the one hour bread setting on our bread machine, and it was really good. One hour bread? Much less planning involved than for the standard four hour bread that we usually make. They spent the night, because there was a surplus state vehicle auction that my dad wanted to go to this morning. And, because it's my dad, we might have a new car now. My family is odd, I know. M hasn't even seen it yet, so it's not fully determined whether or not we're going to buy it from him or if he's going to keep it and resell it. It's a nice looking car, though, and it's pretty likely that we'll keep it, I think. Maybe. He also bought himself a truck. The truck is the reason he wanted to go to the sale, actually. He needs to replace his current truck with one that has more power. It was so not unexpected that he ended up buying two vehicles, though. You'd really just have to know my dad.

I hear my sweet baby waking up. Am I the only parent who feels guilty about my love for nap time? I adore this child, I really do, but I love her even more when she's asleep. ;) She isn't sleeping as well as she normally does, of late. I am not complaining because we have had a really, really good baby as far as sleeping goes, but apparently she's in that four month sleep regression thing. I had no idea that they did that until I read about it from Ask Moxie in the middle of her fourth month. She's still not doing too badly, but her sleeping pattern has definitely changed, and she is no longer sleeping completely through the night every night now. It's funny because she hit it exactly when she was "supposed" to (adjusted for her slight prematurity, anyway), and I knew nothing about it except by chance. I don't own much in the way of parenting books but I do love the internets.
