k time postage
Oct. 23rd, 2007 10:18 pmI don't know what's going on in my life lately, but I have had almost no time to do anything other than keep life going. Today, Evelyn took a nice long nap FINALLY, but I had to fold laundry because my parents were coming over and there would be nowhere to sit otherwise, and I had to call the insurance person and the plant board and I had to research car seats. By that time, my parents were almost here. Tonight, I told M that I would need some time to myself. A few minutes later, I came in to hand him the baby and remarked that if he took her right away, I might get almost nine minutes of quality K time. Woot! We had completely misjudged the time and its proximity to her bathtime.. which I am already running over. Time flies when you're having fun. Hopefully things will settle down soon and I will be able to sew and post and THINK again.
Tomorrow is Dad's birthday and we celebrated it today. I wrote a check for $2,000 and stuck it in his birthday card. I felt like a freaking millionaire. I hadn't paid him back for picking up the car for us yet, of course--I also gave him a more modest amount for an actual present. It's kind of taboo to talk about how much big things cost, but I don't particularly mind telling you that our new car just set us back $2,000. That's what, six months of car payments? It's insanely cheap, that's what it is. That's not even counting the amount we'll get out of the old car once we sell it. I really don't understand people who buy brand new cars. Sure, I would love to have a new car someday, but those first few miles that you put on it cost you thousands. Speaking of the new car, there's a picture of it on the right here. That picture was taken before it was even cleaned up, so it looks even better now.
I am pushing it right now, what with adding a picture to this post, so I have to go before I am done writing. M is swinging Evelyn like a tiny little bell (gently, of course) and she thinks it's hilarious, but if I don't make him stop, she's going to expect ME to swing her around like that and that is so not going to happen. Much.
