Feb. 10th, 2008 08:46 pmI don't know how it happened but my house is clean. M and I accidentally got into a little unofficial competition this evening and the next thing I knew, everything looked fantastic. I have to dust a couple more rooms and wash a few dishes tomorrow and then it will look better than it's looked since M's parents came to visit. We even rearranged furniture a little! All the laundry is put away! It is so going to stay this way, I just know it! At least for a few days. Or hours. Something like that.
My voice finally came back on Thursday evening. I was beginning to wonder if I should call a doctor, since I was completely sans voice for five days. It's still terribly hoarse but I can talk again and so I am grateful for that. Evelyn was rather upset at her mommy whispering at her all the time and of course she didn't understand what the deal was. She didn't have a bad week, though. She pulled up to standing for the first time in her crib and has sat up by herself a couple of times. She's crawling all over the place, which is really annoying to those of us charged with keeping her safe. She's a lot of fun, though. Today, she seems a bit under the weather. I think she has a belly ache and she is cutting at least two teeth but I think there are actually four coming in. I figure that gives her the right to be a little fussy, but it does get old after a while.
I made a hilariously ugly diaper this weekend. It's neon orange PUL with chocolate brown inner and green snaps, trimmed in white. It's like the 70s threw up a pumpkin.
I asked M if we did anything else fun this weekend and he reminded me that we celebrated Valentine's Day last night by going out for dinner and going grocery shopping. We are awesomely romantic. I don't know what's better, that we took our infant with us on our date or that I had forgotten about it already. :) It is good to know that it is possible to be so happy that one doesn't even need romance, isn't it?
Oh, and Evelyn has learned what "no" means. Unfortunately, she has learned that it means "crawl faster."
