Aug. 30th, 2008 12:04 amIt seems that we are completely incapable of packing the night before we leave. Tomorrow, we will be running around like mad trying to get everything in order before we leave for the weekend. It's not our normal family weekend, but my cousin is coming in from North Carolina with her little boy. I also have a baby shower to attend at one, so I have to kind of be on a schedule, which I am not always so good at while entertaining the baby. Last week, we relied upon our live-in alarm clock to get us up on Saturday, and she slept in until ten with no rhyme or reason. I'm not looking for that to happen this week, though, as the dear, dear child (argh) has been getting up at six this week.
E and I had a really busy day, heading off to do some serious shopping and having lunch with M. I am getting extravagant in my old age. I spent like, TWO DOLLARS or something on my purchases. I mean, I bought five 12-packs of Pepsi, a pack of diapers (we tend to use trashies while out and about), three bottles of shampoo, one bottle of body wash, two bottles of SoBe Life water, some anti-wrinkle thing, 2 cans of Oust surface and air cleaner, three boxes of PediaSure bars, a bottle of Visine and a tube of ItchX cream. Except for the anti-wrinkle thing, any of that was something that we could theoretically have purchased at any given time, so I am feeling inordinately proud of myself. Two dollars is a really rough estimate, and it takes into account the rebates I'll get next month, the 10% profit I will make from some of the free stuff and the register coupon for a future purchase and the $10 coupon I had in addition to the manufacturer's coupons and sales. Several of those items were profitable after manufacturer's coupons. Oh what fun.A penny saved is better than a penny earned, you know. This is the first time I have ever had a practical hobby.
Oops, just remembered that the sheets aren't on the bed. Better go take care of that and try to sleep for a few hours.. busy day ahead!
