Oct. 15th, 2008 10:43 pmI still feel a little thrill when I cook something for dinner that I know M likes. I know it's not that politically correct but it's true. He happens to enjoy my cooking most all the time. He was even cool with my recent insane desire to throw a can of spinach and a can of diced tomatoes together and call it pasta sauce. (Note: don't do this. Though, it wasn't bad after some alterations.. one would never call it "pretty", though.) Tonight's dinner was a real winner because it involved sausage and sandwiches, two of M's favorite things, and he didn't even request it. Super sandwiches! A loaf of french bread with sliced and fried kielbasa, peppers and onions inside, covered with cheddar and baked in foil. I usually don't even care much for them but it was delicious. And healthy too! Dairy and veggies! Ahem. I did serve it with steamed veggies if that makes it any better. Tomorrow: nachos. Someone should stop me from making meal plans while shopping and hungry because while we eat tasty things, we do not eat healthy things.
I have spent the last day or two ditching Vista and returning to the cold comfort of XP. It looks clunky and old and ugly now, but it will hopefully work properly without making me want to tear my hair out. I don't ask for much.
Evie and I had a nice day. Ever notice that people usually don't tell you when their kids are good and things go well? Because it's not interesting, really, but who cares. She was kissing my knees and smiling prettily at me this afternoon and when I would call her a pretty girl, she would say thank you. (Have been working on teaching her that one for a week now.) Probably in apology for Monday, when she was not quite so well-behaved.
Must go plan a shopping trip for tomorrow. I've been home almost all week so it's time to get out tomorrow, but I can't organize anything like that while the baby is awake. She's sweet but she is not yet helpful.
