beer and fraud
Dec. 31st, 2008 02:24 pmI got big bonus wifey points yesterday even though I was out shopping instead of home, preparing dinner like a good girl. I bought M a home beer brewing kit on clearance at CVS ($12, after coupon.) He has wanted to do that for years and years and is super excited. I hope that it works out for him and tastes alright. They had two, and I considered buying it as well but then decided against it. We met for dinner (I was still at the grocery store when he got off work) and talked about it, and then stopped back in CVS on the way home to pick up the other one. Sadly, it was gone by the time I got there, so I think he's going to head over to the one in the town he works in and see if they have one. I am not sure why I am encouraging him to drink beer, now that I think about it... but if it works, it will totally be cheaper than buying it at the store anyway, so I guess it's all good.
And now I am pissy because I have spent the majority of my babynap on the phone with my credit card company, trying to figure out a certain charge on my account that I didn't recognize. After a flurry of phone calls, I finally found a website for the guy. Apparently, I stayed home on Christmas Day buying web templates! Funny, I don't even remember it! And now I am just wondering how this guy got my credit card number in the first place--someone on twitter apparently had the same thing happen so I'm guessing it wasn't an accident. It is just a surprise to me that he only tried to get away with $12.79. I guess he was hoping most people wouldn't even think about what that charge was for. Supposedly, it's all taken care of now. I guess I should get credit reports soon.
Must wake up the cruel taskmistress from her slumbers. She has given me her cold, the little meanie, and yet she remains unsympathetic to my plight. When I had a day job, I could call in sick but I have not yet figured out how to call in sick to motherhood for the day. I guess if I was really, really sick, I could make M stay home, but it's a long way off from there, thankfully. Just a little sniffly so far. I think I'll skip the wild booze fest tonight, though..
