It was a fantastic weekend and I am so irritated that Monday rolled around right on schedule. Couldn't we have just tacked a few more days onto the weekend?

To make up for the sick suck (which was not nearly as fun or interesting as it sounds) of the previous weekend, we decided that our number one goal was to have fun. Wait, I take that back. Our number one goal was to take the Christmas decorations down, which I am happy to say that we did indeed accomplish. I have never in my life left up my Christmas stuff that long, but we were gone a lot and then we were really, really sick and then kind of apathetic about the whole thing. My parents came down to visit on Saturday, and we managed to get the Christmas stuff down just before they got here, in between doing an emergency cleaning of the bathroom and general pick-up.

Yesterday, we went shopping for a while and ended the day with a pretty decent semi-spontaneous coupon shopping trip. Those are unpredictable when both the boyo and the baby are in tow. I can appease Evelyn with crackers but M is another story. ;) No, seriously, it's not that entertaining for him so I try to have more of a plan when he's along, usually. But this one turned out well. Oh, and I bought clothes! I did not manage to buy myself a pair of pants that fit me (I have no pants, people.) but I did buy a shirt and a pair of capris. I guess capris might count as pants but they are not pants that I can wear when it is thirty degrees out so it doesn't really count. Eleven bucks, though! For both! At Macy's! And I used a MyPoints gift card so actually, free with forty bucks left to spend. My mom, and others, have been griping at me since Evelyn was born about my pants. My mom jeans fall off my non-existent bottom. I am top-heavy. Hey, I am VASA! Tip me over and you may find me in four hundred years at the bottom of the ocean. I bet Vasa had no pants either. Uh.. whatever. Anyway. I should buy pants, that's all I'm saying.

Evelyn was so bitchy this afternoon. I think she is sort of in a stage where her brain is farther along than her body and it frustrates her that she cannot do all the things that she thinks she should be able to. On the bright side, she does really funny things all the time that really surprise us. Like, I asked her both yesterday and today what she wanted for dinner, and she said, "BURGER!" What makes it funny is that the kid doesn't even eat burgers. I have tried to let her taste of one a couple of times and she is just not a fan. Then she went to find a play burger patty to emphasize her point. Anyway, about the bitchy. That is just really the best word I can think of to describe it. In the car today, she decided she was going to feed Elmo some of her water. She sat there with the cup tilted into his mouth for a long while, but apparently, Elmo did not show enough appreciation for her generosity, so she finally started yelling at him. I reached into the back seat to take the cup away from her and then she was fine, but while she had the cup, she HAD to feed the monster and he HAD to respond and it was just tearing her apart that it wasn't going the way she thought it should. I guess. I can only guess at her motives sometimes. Who knows? Her griping is partly why we went shopping today, though. It is a bit strange but she is usually better behaved in public than at home when she gets like that.

Anyway, I have a pile of other things I'd like to get done, as always, so I'll stop rambling about the baby and hop to it.
