I told M that I should probably take a pregnancy test, as I was fixing myself a bowl of strawberry ice cream and fully intended to eat it with some lovely potato chips. That is just not natural. I had a semi-rough day fighting with one excessively nerdy baby so I felt the urge for some serious comfort foods but couldn't decide between salty or sweet. WHY CHOOSE?
So Miss E is all about making it clear that she is rapidly approaching that lovely time known as the terrible twos. (Yeah, can you believe that? Her birthday is in three months.) I don't mean to say that she's bad, just that we are beginning to see just how... spoiled we have been, because she is really very good, most of the time. Today, she decided that she did not want to nap, and to keep herself from napping, she was going to entertain herself by smacking me in the chest, and pretending to bite me while nursing. (She hasn't bitten me except on accident in ages, but she sometimes will get that look of meanness in her eyes and pretend to clamp down while grinning at me. Not funny, kiddo, really not funny.) I tell her no, and then physically show her and tell her how to touch Mommy instead, by stroking my cheek. The problem is that she thinks that stroking my cheek to show me how to touch Mommy is great fun, so she smacks me so that I will tell her no and start the whole process again. It's not like it hurts but it's also not like I plan on letting her smack me around, either.
And now I am falling asleep in my chair so I guess that ends all updates for te moment.I would sure give a lot if she would stay asleep until morning tonight.
