important thoughts
Feb. 17th, 2009 10:38 pmI just got an issue of Woman's Day magazine in the mail today. It was a freebie subscription. Generally, I'm not much on magazines but I like free. I was flipping through it just now and being reminded of all the reasons I am not super-keen on magazines. Just as I was closing the thing, I saw a particular little blurb that made me laugh. The article contains tips on making cleaning easier, and this section was about sweeping suggestions.
"To sweep, hold the broom like a canoe paddle, with one hand on top of the handle and the other toward the middle."
What I want to know, really, is.... are there really that many people out there who do not know how to use a broom but are adept at canoeing? I could maybe see it if someone was teaching folks how to canoe by comparing it to holding a broom, but the other way around? Really?
If these people even exist, I can guarantee they're not reading Woman's Day.
