potty sucesses :)

I was awake from 4:30 to 6:30 last night with Evelyn. I brought her into bed with us at first, because I thought she would fall back asleep easily that way. It's sort of a recent development that she will occasionally do that, but only in the morning. I thought 4:30 was late enough for it to work. After 45 minutes, I gave up and took her to the couch so M could get a little more sleep. On the way, I stopped in at the bathroom to check her diaper and she was still dry, and that's when I realized... she was awake because she needed to pee. Sure enough, I sat her down on her potty and she immediately proved me right. After that, she finally was willing to fall asleep.. though it still took me over an hour because it's her. (I have been dreading this for a long time, the potty usage at night thing. She has a really hard time falling asleep, no matter why she's awake.) Anyway, the reason I even thought about it was because last night, she was still dry from a diaper change when we got home from shopping. That was at about 5:30. She wouldn't go before bed, but I gave up after an hour of her refusing to sleep and handed her off to M. She had been saying she wanted to go potty, but she often lies about this when she doesn't want to go to bed. But, I took her last night because I also thought she was too hot in her pajamas anyway, and she really hadn't gone in a long time. And same as this morning, she went right away and then M got her to sleep in like ten minutes. (I kind of cursed at him when he came back into the room smugly. It is just so not an efficient use of time if it takes him ten minutes and it takes me hours...but in his defense, it is not always like that.) Soo, she needed to pee. She peed again when she got up, which means that she has actually had a clean dry diaper since 5:30 yesterday. The only problem is that she basically never tells me when she needs to go, but she also resists being taken to the potty. She's had a couple of days now where she went four times, and it's pretty common that she goes at least twice. I am really interested in seeing where this goes. She hasn't even watched the Elmo potty DVD in days! ;)
Right now, she is playing in the bathtub while I sit here writing this. Awesome. Except it's time to get her out by now so I'd better go take care of that. She does love her bath! :)
