I'm a cliche
Jun. 10th, 2009 01:59 pmMy child has stolen my car keys and lost them.
I remember her grabbing them when I came home on Sunday but I was busy carrying things in so I didn't stop her. Then I kind of remember her saying "where Mommy keys go?" a few minutes later. I really don't know why I didn't jump right then to look for them but I just kind of forgot about it. I haven't needed them until now, so I am just now dealing with the repercussions, so to speak.
Sidenote: this is why you NEVER say "when I'm a parent, I will NEVER let my kid...." because sure as God made little green apples, you will find yourself in a situation where you remember saying that... while your child is doing that very thing.
I am supposed to wake her up in four minutes so we can leave. My parents are camping in town, starting right now, and we're planning on being there most of the time. And I can't go unless I find those damned keys. I also can't pack up the car before waking her up without said damned keys. I can't even have them come pick me up because the car seat is in the car. I am stuck, until such time as I find the keys, or M comes home.
On the bright side, I DID find the set of old keys that I gave to Evelyn to keep her from wanting mine that she lost ages ago.
Helpful.
