You know, one of the best things about LJ is that no one is talking about going to BlogHer. STFU about BlogHer. NO ONE CARES EXCEPT YOU. I think I post a variant of this every year but seriously, it's so boring. I think the problem is just that sixty million people post about it, so you read about it everywhere.
I had a friend over this afternoon! That is so unlike me! One might even say that it was Evelyn's first playdate. Yes, I am an antisocial SAHM that way. Evelyn's prior playdates have been with middle-aged women at Walgreens. I rock. So anyway, she had fun playing with another baby (11 months) today, but she is perhaps not the best in the world at the whole "sharing" thing. She was a little confused as to who this baby thought he was, looking at all her toys that way, and TOUCHING them, too! She was partially patient and partially grumpy--I thought she did relatively well, considering how little experience she has with babies, and with other kids in general.
We have somewhere over four dozen fresh flowers in our house. We have a couple of naked lady groves in the backyard, left over from the insane gardeners who lived here before. (Apparently they're amaryllis, if cursory Googling is to be believed.) They're really pretty, and yet I think I am going to have to take them out. My eyes are burning like crazy and I can only assume it's from being in the room with them. *sigh* But they're so pretty! .... Updated info: M took them out of the room because he is sweet and solicitous and he likes me better when I am not whiny, and then he took them to our neighbors. :) That was a nice idea. They give us veggies sometimes, and in fact, he came home with a bag full of peppers and tomatoes. I hope their allergies are not affected like mine were.
I should be doing something productive, or I should be in bed, but I really just want to sit here and play the Sims and I think I have earned it, by golly, and I am going to do it.
