more on the newspaper thing, and exercise.
Jan. 7th, 2010 11:15 pmVern from the competing newspaper in charge of delivery called twice today. The first time he wanted to know if I had gotten two papers this week. (No.) The second time, he called back to assure me that I WILL be getting two papers this week. I chuckled at him and said okay. He sounded certain but I have heard it all before. ;)
I used to watch/listen to Dr. Phil, when he first came on, because the TV would be on already on and there was nothing else for noise at that time slot anyway. Basically all of the ones that I have seen in passing in the last few years have been complete sensationalist garbage, but the early shows were fairly good and I have carried a few things around since then. One of my favorites is, "Would you rather be right or be happy?" I am thinking of this because I told M this morning that if I didn't get two papers this weekeend, I was canceling the second subscription and then calling in and creating a new subscription in M's name. The programmer in me is hoping that it would create a new record instead of just increasing a value in the one that I already have. Surely that would be harder to miss. I am downright curious as to whether or not that would help. Anyway, M said that he wouldn't dream of fixing their problem for them like that, and would continue harassing them about the whole thing instead. That's when I asked if he'd rather be right or happy.
M would rather be right.
This is so in keeping with his character that it's not even funny. *giggle*
Evie and I had a much better day than yesterday. Would you like to hear something remarkable? I was so exhausted this morning when I got up and showered that I considered going back to bed until Evie woke up. I'd been up with her during the night (rare now, but it happens occasionally) and was just super sleepy. Not only did I stay awake, I made myself go exercise. M and I have both been working out on the Wii lately. It was sort of energizing, I thought. But then! I haven't been sleepy all day, and I have worked like crazy on various household duties all day, and was more patient with Evelyn because I didn't feel worn down already. It's almost like those people who talk about exercise feeling good are RIGHT or something! Crazy!
