My daughter wants to move in with my parents. I kind of mean this literally, in that she has said, "I want to live with Granny instead". And I LOVE it that she loves my parents. I love it that she enjoys herself when she goes up there, but geez, kiddo, couldn't you NOT SAY THINGS LIKE THAT? My parents are wonderful grandparents. Evie can do pretty much whatever she wants she she's at Granny's house, which is how it should be. So, yes, I can see why she's not terribly excited about coming home, where we have things like rules and bedtimes and we never have chocolate for breakfast. If we have another kid, we are going to have to tell it scary stories about them and maybe we'll get to keep the affections of at least one of our kids.;) I jest but it gets old to hear her cry when we come home from my parents. Sorry, E, but you pretty much have to live here for the next fifteen years or so.
It's been a busy week so far and will continue to be so. We met my parents for shopping on Saturday and of course, Evelyn ended up going home with them. That's what's happened basically every time we've seen them since like December. So, I had to go up for the day on Monday to pick her up. We were home today (cleaning house, mostly) but I'm taking her back to my parents tomorrow because I have a doctors appointment Thursday morning that I can't take her to. M is coming with me so he can't keep her and I don't have a babysitter at all that's closer than ninety miles. (Well... I could probably find someone closer on a weekend in a real pinch, but not during working hours.)
On the bright side, M and I have had quite a bit more time together at home, sans the girl, than ever before and while we miss having her around--it's great fun to have date nights and productivity time. It coincides well with spring, too--I tend to get motivated to knock things off the to-do list when spring rolls around. She is still not allowed to move out though.
And, I forgot to finish this post and now it's bedtime, so... let's assume here that I was done with whatever else I was going to write about. Yay for nonexistent conclusions!
