Oh, it was a rough day, but it ended okay. I switched to Netflix from Blockbuster and we've had a lot of fun with the streaming thing. We only had Blockbuster because I signed up for some promotion last year to get $25 back or something, and we never used the in-store exchange thing, so... sensible to switch. AND AWESOME. There are limitations in what's available to stream instantly, but Caillou is very well represented so I am really looking forward to that.

Sometimes I get it in my head that I let Evie watch far too much TV and so I decide that we are going to do Fun Enriching Activities. She is totally on board for that except.. it seems like the more actively I play with her, the worse her behavior gets. What the heck is that about? This morning, we were all learning to use scissors (it's one of our little projects that we're working on now and then) and then doing a little craft project and then.. it all went downhill rapidly and I have no idea why. I finally got about as mad at her as I've ever gotten because she walked over to a tub of her Trio building blocks, sat on the rim and PEED IN THE TUB. I am unsure about what this sudden relapse is in potty-training anyway--she had stopped having accidents basically at all, for months, and then about a month ago, they started back. My feeling is that she's having a bit of a hard time with the stress relating to my grandfather being so sick and in/out of the hospital. Maybe? But then again, maybe I'm reading too much into it. She has been accustomed to spending a lot of time with my mom, though, and she hasn't gotten to do that much lately. When they ARE together, my mom is being pulled in other directions so that she can't really focus on her as exclusively as she used to. E's behavior tends to take a turn for the worse after we've been with my parents, too, which is another thing that makes me think that's the problem. (My mom came down to spend Evie's birthday with her yesterday.) She's always done that to some degree but it seems worse. Anyway, peeing in the tub. Santa brought her a LOT of those Trios for Christmas. I hear he was getting them for pretty much free or very cheap at K-mart back in the fall, so he purchased accordingly, since blocks are more fun when you have a lot, right? Well, that means that it is a GIANT tub and all those little pieces had to be washed. Lovely. Then we have little dorko, who does not excel as a diplomat, standing back saying, "It's okay, Mommy. You can just clean it!" Way to soothe Mommy's ruffled feathers there, sport.

On the bright side, eventually evening arrived and M came home. I was pretty happy about that by then, though her mood had improved a lot by then anyway. He took her to Lowe's anyway and that was a welcome break.

I had more to say but I can't remember what that might have been by now. I'm sooo sleepy.I guess going to bed would be wiser than trying to remember and failing. :)
