I just asked my husband if he had been sneaking beer because he had been talking non-stop for six minutes without giving me time to say a single word. Apparently it was not the alcohol but the topic (replacing his car) which caused him such talky joy. I have very limited interest in cars but I was listening anyway. If we do replace his car, we will be looking for a vehicle with which to replace mine, eventually, and he'll get the one I drive now. He spends an enormous amount of time thinking about cars before any purchase, and I--well, my contribution to the family vehicular purchasing is patience. Lots of patience.

We just got back from a very, very busy weekend. M had to work four hours yesterday and, through a series of missed plans and miscommunications, I ended up rather stranded in a Michael's for two and a half hours yesterday afternoon. Now, I like craft stores but seriously, that's too much even for me! And they didn't have [livejournal.com profile] blue_eyed_girl's yarn, either, so I'm going to have to look somewhere else.. I'm sure more yarn shopping will be a major hardship.. ;) Anyway, I did buy some yarn for a cabled scarf that's approximately next on my project list, a tatting book (on sale! clearance! That I didn't have already! For $7!), and a birthday present for my niece. I felt like I should have came out of there with a few more things for the amount of time I spent, though. My parents picked me up and we ran around a little while, and then M and I went to J and A's for dinner when he got off work. Lemon chicken, and I think I might have to ask for the recipe although I hate to encourage J and M too much because she joked that it was a superior recipe due to it being Swedish. J is a very talented and extremely prolific stitcher (is that the right word) and so I always make her give me a run-through of all the things she's been working on lately. The trouble with that is that when I leave, I want to run home and drag out my cross-stitch supplies again. And burn all the Aida that I might have. And buy silk threads and beads and fancy patterns and finish up all the things I have started and and and and. But if I did that what about my knitting?! And my tatting? Argh. Too much stuff, too little time.

Now it's late and I'm not sleepy (read: I am VERY sleepy but I don't want to admit it yet) but I guess it's time to head in that direction anyway. I have tomorrow off (oh, blessed flex day, how I do love thee) but the boy does not.
