Eeek! My computer just suddenly spoke to me! It said, "I'm sorry, I did not understand." OOOH! It's the speech thingie in Opera 8! I downloaded the plugin the other day out of curiousity but I forgot to check it out after I installed it. It works! It really works! I'm always so skeptical about stuff like that, but it's so cool that it hurts my head! I just selected the text of paradisecowgirl's post (because I hadn't read it yet.. had just loaded the friends page and skimmed down to where I left off earlier before I got distracted) and told it to speak to me. And then I started typing this while listening to what she's been up to! HOW COOL IS THAT?

I can't see myself ever actually seriously using this feature, but it's really neat anyway. So there.

It is REALLY cool, although perhaps I might have made that semi-clear in my post. *laugh* I didn't know if you could change it or not until you asked, but I dug around in the options and found that you can change the voice from male to female. The female's voice is actually better, so I don't know why they didn't use that one as the default.
